I LOVE my new area, and amazingly enough it makes our room feel bigger to not have the closet doors on. Here you can see my new sewing machine. It isn't love yet, but I'm working on it. It doesn't have all the cool stiches my old machine had, but it'll work since I only paid $15 for it. And it will suffice for a little longer while I save up for a Bernina or whatever other brand I choose. You can also see the sewing table/cabinet I got this last year for Christmas. I love this table. It folds out more and the machine fits into...well it will once Stuart modifies the hole for the machine to fit into it. Right now the hole is too big. It's been sitting in my basement since my intent was to sew down there when the kids were playing. Unfortunately, where I was going to put the cabinet there was no plug and so it never happened.
It's called the Twirly Jean Skirt, and KatieJo Loved it and I LOVE it. I love it so much I might even try it for myself...we'll see. Oh, and it took less than 2 hours (to be exact, almost an hour and a half).
I used an old pair of jeans she liked and left over fabric from her Easter dress. In the next day or 2 I plan to make a fabric flower I found a tutorial for on U Create so that she can clip it onto whatever shirt she is wearing and look Hip. Have I mentioned that I LOVE having girls! My boys just don't like me to dress them up like this!
This is awesome, Chaney! I love your sewing area. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing all you come up with. I'm sure I'll get lots of great ideas from you!
